Menace Foundation Mission Statement
We are dedicated to the growth of soccer and the Menace organization through player advancement and increased community involvement. We will provide an environment that allows coaches, players and our staff opportunities to succeed personally and professionally.
Menace Academy Overview
Academy Player Development: Beginning at the age of 10, players are eligible to tryout for the Menace Academy which consists of boys and girls teams ranging in age from U11 to U19. Academy members will develop by learning skills and strategies at age-appropriate levels. Youth will be exposed to the very best coaching and training on a consistent basis as they grow and mature.
Coaching: Each team is provided with a USSF licensed soccer coach. We offer the highest level of training with no parent coaches.
Academy Expenses: Fees and costs to play for the Des Moines Menace are comparable to other select programs in the metro area. The cost ranges from about $400-$1000 at the older age groups. This includes speed and agility training in the off-season. Not included in this amount is the cost of uniforms, travel and tournament expenses which can vary. As a non-profit organization we do our best to keep costs minimal and believe the long term result will be worth the expense.
Tryout for the Menace Academy
Menace Academy Tryouts take place annually in June. Pre-registration is preferred and it costs $25 to tryout. The Menace Academy forms teams in two locations at Menace Central (Aliber Soccer Complex located at 63rd and Grand in West Des Moines) and at Menace West (Grimes Soccer Complex located at 750 S James Street in Grimes).
