Menace Foundation Mission Statement
The Mission of the Des Moines Menace Youth Soccer Academy is to provide a fun and challenging soccer environment that will allow players of all abilities to grow as people and reach the best of their soccer abilities. Our focus will be on the development of each player in an ability and age specific environment.
Academy Player Development: Beginning at the age of 11, players are eligible to tryout for the Menace Academy which consists of boys and girls teams ranging in age from U11 to U19. Academy members will develop by learning skills and strategies at age-appropriate levels. Youth will be exposed to the very best coaching and training on a consistent basis as they grow and mature.
Coaching: Each team is provided with a USSF licensed soccer coach. We offer the highest level of training with no parent coaches as assistants. The Director of Coaching, Casey Mann holds a USSF "A" license the highest level of coaching available. He led the PDL team to a National Championship in 2005 and continues to coach in the youth academy. Coach Mann is a huge asset to the Menace Academy and has an impressive list of players he’s coached that went on to play on the college, PDL, and MLS level.
Academy Expenses: Fees and costs to play for the Des Moines Menace are comparable to other select programs in the metro area. The cost ranges from about $700-$1300 at the older age groups. This includes speed and agility training in the off season. Not included in this amount is the cost of uniforms, travel and tournament expenses which can vary. As a non-profit organization we do our best to keep costs minimal and believe the long term result will be worth the expense. |
