Ready for the PDL Playoffs at Valley Stadium? Put on your Menace Red and make some noise for your team.

FRIDAY, JULY 20 – PDL Central Conference Semifinals

MENACE vs. LANSING UNITED

PROMOTIONS: “Paint the Stadium Red” – Wear your Menace Red. Don't have any red Menace gear? Head to the merchandise stand, where all Menace t-shirts (red or not) will be on sale for just $10. Plus, for every Menace t-shirt you buy, we're throwing in a "Chuck-for-a-Buck" ball for our popular halftime contest.

GAMETIME: 7:30 p.m.

PRECEDED BY: 4:30 p.m. semifinal between the Dayton Dutch Lions and Chicago FC United. Come early!

FOOD TRUCKS: Banh ME (An Asian-inspired food truck providing sandwiches, steaks, tacos and burritos) and Kona Ice

SPECIAL GUESTS: Fresh off their 2018 Indoor Football League championship, head coach Dixie Wooten and the Iowa Barnstormers will be in the plaza. They’re bringing the trophy they earned with a dramatic 42-38 win over Sioux Falls on July 7.

PREGAME: Back by popular demand, the Iowa Military Veterans Jazz Band will perform in the plaza from 6:45 to 7:15.

HALFTIME: In addition to “Chuck for a Buck,” we’ll have another installment of “Interrogation Station” with Charlie Bales, and a game of mascot soccer is in the works.

MERCHANDISE: Load up on your Menace gear. For every red t-shirt you buy at the merch stand, you’ll get a “Chuck for a Buck” ball. This includes the new “Kings of the Heartland” shirts celebrating the Menace’s fourth division crown in five years.

NATIONAL ANTHEM: Iowa Military Veterans Jazz Band

GROUP OUTINGS: Kick It Forward, Happy Feet, Giant Pekes, and Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Iowa

 

SATURDAY, JULY 21: PDL Central Conference Championship

(Friday’s winners face off for a spot in the PDL Final Four)

GAMETIME: 7:30 p.m.

FOOD TRUCK: Kona Ice

HALFTIME: “Neymar Rolling Challenge” – an idea we’re taking from Lane United FC, a PDL team in Oregon.

NATIONAL ANTHEM: Aaron Collmann

 

SINGLE-DAY TICKETS: $10 single-day for ages 6 and older. Free admission for ages 5 and under. $20 for a sideline seat at a V.I.P. table. The ticket silo (on field level) opens at 3:30 on Friday and 6 p.m. on Saturday.

ONLINE TICKETS: Click here and save 20 percent when you order your single-day tickets at least 24 hours before the game you’re attending.

BEST VALUE: Get your Two-Day Pass (available online through Thursday night) and enjoy three postseason games for just $15 – That’s like five dollars per game!

 

FOR ALL MENACE HOME GAMES…

KICK FOR PRIZES: $1 per shot at the inflatable Kick Center in the plaza, before and during the game. Top prize: vintage Menace jerseys!

KIDS’ ZONE: Children are invited to head to the east side of Valley Stadium to play in the Street Soccer Zone and the Soccer Ball Bounce House. There’s no additional charge for the Kids’ Zone, which is open from 6:30 p.m. until the game’s 70th minute.

BEFORE THE GAMES: Children are invited on the field, starting at 7:20, for the human tunnel – Give high fives to the players as they enter the field for lineup introductions.

FIRST HALF: Sign up at the Info Table for a chance at one of two V.I.P. table upgrades, thanks to Kum & Go and Soccer Master. 

HALFTIME: Play Chuck-for-a-Buck: Buy your red rubber balls during the first half, and take aim at prizes from these sponsors: Dino’s Bar & Grill…Frito Lay…Gilroy’s Kitchen + Patio + Pub…Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Des Moines Northwest…Kum & Go…and the Des Moines Menace.

 

PARKING: Season-ticket members receive access to the V.I.P. Parking Lot (field level) close to the entrance. There’s also plenty of free parking available in the upper parking lot as well as the City Hall parking lot.

SUPPORTERS’ CLUBS: Want to hang out with some soccer nuts? You can cheer and chant with the Red Army in the bleachers behind the north goal or with the Bucket Brigade at midfield in the stands.

RESTROOMS: There are two sets of restrooms – one on the north side of the main building (to the left of the entrance) and one on the upper level (behind the west bleachers).

 

AFTER THE GAMES: Meet the Menace players on the field for autographs and pictures. For the 21-and-older crowd, join the players and coaches at BeerStyles Taproom & Gastropub (in West Glen Town Center) for the Official Postgame Party of the Menace – Your ticket stub will get you a free drink.

 

WHAT’S NEXT: Hopefully, some more playoff soccer at Valley Stadium, the next two Saturdays (July 28 and August 4).
