It’s the last weekend before the Menace hosts the Premier Development League Playoffs.

Join us for a Friday-Saturday weekend full of fun:

Zoo animals, halftime story time, African dancing and more.

 

Also, did we mention that the Menace can clinch the PDL’s regular-season crown with a win on Friday?

 
...Well, they can, and we hope you’ll come cheer on the undefeated “Kings of the Heartland”
this weekend and then next weekend, when we host the Central Conference championship!

 

 

FRIDAY, JULY 13: MENACE vs. ST. LOUIS LIONS

PROMOTIONS: “Youth Night” ($5 tickets for ages 6-17; Children 5 and under get in free) and “Libraries Rock!” Night

PRESENTED BY: Wells Fargo

GAMETIME: 7:30 p.m.

PRECEDED BY: 5 p.m. match between Des Moines Wanderers FC and Imperio. Ticket silo and gate open at 4:15.

FOOD TRUCK: Kona Ice

PREGAME: Before and during the game, head to the Info Table to play “World Cup Final Pick ‘Em” – Guess the winner and the score for Sunday’s big match between France and Croatia, and give yourself the chance to win V.I.P. seating at the Menace’s playoff action on July 20.

HALFTIME: Kids and families are invited on the field for story time (after “Chuck for a Buck”). Join Elephant and Piggie as they act out the popular Mo Willems’ book, “Watch Me Throw The Ball.” The mascots will be available for photos after the story time. Also – we’ll be recognizing the Menace women’s team and Charlie Bales will have some “Interrogation Station” fun with the kids.

POSTGAME: Get your playoff tickets! We’ll have the tickets for sale on the field and in the plaza.

MERCHANDISE: Get your gear to celebrate the Menace’s fourth division title in the last five years. Show your love for the “Kings of the Heartland” with one of these styling T’s, just $15 in the merch stand…

 

KICK FOR PRIZES: $1 per shot at the inflatable Kick Center in the plaza, before and during the game.

SATURDAY, JULY 14: MENACE vs. AURORA BOREALIS SC

PROMOTIONS: “Alumni Night” – Welcoming back former Menace players and coaches as we celebrate the franchise’s 25th anniversary.

GAMETIME: 7:30 p.m.

FOOD TRUCK: Kona Ice

PREGAME: Blank Park Zoo will have an exhibit from 6:15 to 7:15, right inside the front gates. Fans are encouraged to stop by and interact with some zoo animals.

HALFTIME: A dancing performance by VIP, part of the Genesis Youth Foundation. VIP will showcase dancing that blends traditional Western Aftrican dance with a modern American flair. Also – We’ll recognize Menace alumni in attendance, and show videos from alums in the pros.

POSTGAME: Get your playoff tickets, on the field and in the plaza.

MERCHANDISE: Get your “Kings of the Heartland” T’s, while they last.

GROUP OUTINGS: Genesis Youth Foundation, empowering underserved youth and young adults through sports and the arts while engaging them in educational opportunities to become effective leaders and productive citizens.

 

TICKETS: $10 for adults (18 and older); $8 for youth (ages 6-17); Free admission for ages 5 and under. $20 for a sideline seat at a V.I.P. table. The ticket silo (on field level) opens at 6 p.m.

FOR ALL MENACE HOME GAMES…

KIDS’ ZONE: Children are invited to head to the east side of Valley Stadium to play in the Street Soccer Zone and the Soccer Ball Bounce House. There’s no additional charge for the Kids’ Zone, which is open from 6:30 p.m. until the game’s 70th minute.

BEFORE THE GAMES: Children are invited on the field, starting at 7:20, for the human tunnel – Give high fives to the players as they enter the field for lineup introductions.

FIRST HALF: Sign up at the Info Table for a chance at one of two V.I.P. table upgrades, thanks to Kum & Go and Soccer Master. If you’re 18 and older, play 50/50 for a chance at a cash payout, while supporting the Menace Academy.

HALFTIME: Play Chuck-for-a-Buck: Buy your red rubber balls during the first half, and take aim at prizes from these sponsors: Dino’s Bar & Grill…Frito Lay…Gilroy’s Kitchen + Patio + Pub…Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Des Moines Northwest…Kum & Go…and the Des Moines Menace.

 

PARKING: Season-ticket members receive access to the V.I.P. Parking Lot (field level) close to the entrance. There’s also plenty of free parking available in the upper parking lot as well as the City Hall parking lot.

SUPPORTERS’ CLUBS: Want to hang out with some soccer nuts? You can cheer and chant with the Red Army in the bleachers behind the north goal or with the Bucket Brigade at midfield in the stands.

RESTROOMS: There are two sets of restrooms – one on the north side of the main building (to the left of the entrance) and one on the upper level (behind the west bleachers).

 

AFTER THE GAMES: Meet the Menace players on the field for autographs and pictures. For the 21-and-older crowd, join the players and coaches at BeerStyles Taproom & Gastropub (in West Glen Town Center) for the Official Postgame Party of the Menace – Your ticket stub will get you a free drink.
