Back in March, we announced a contest inviting Iowa residents to submit their designs for the Des Moines Menace’s new logo.

Thank you to the 78 individuals who have shared their creative visions and artistic talents in this contest. We are grateful for your time and energy. It’s been fun to see what you’ve come up with, and our staff has enjoyed the subjective exercise of choosing our favorite designs.

We apologize for the delay, and we are asking for your understanding:

After much discussion, we have decided to not continue with this contest.

Since announcing this contest, we have seen some new developments that will potentially move the Menace organization in a new and exciting direction. With a genuine desire to update the Menace’s logo, we announced this contest with pure intentions, and we were upfront in this possibility in our original announcement of the guidelines:

“The Des Moines Menace may modify or revise the winning logo as it sees necessary to achieve the organization’s goals. The Des Moines Menace reserves the right to not select a winner if, in its sole discretion, no suitable entries are received. The Des Moines Menace may impose such other rules and regulations as it deems appropriate and may also choose to end the contest early or extend deadlines as it deems necessary or appropriate.”
