Fireworks Friday ushers in the Menace's five-weekends-in-a-row homestand to wrap up the 2018 season.

Summer’s here, and the Menace is home again!

Fireworks Friday and Rivalry Saturday kick off a stretch of five straight weekends at Valley Stadium.

Your Menace is in first place after winning five road games.

All Menace home games start at 7:30.

 

FRIDAY, JUNE 15: MENACE vs. NEBRASKA BUGEATERS FC

PROMOTIONS: Postgame Fireworks! Fans are invited to join us on the field after the game for the first of two fireworks displays this season (also July 6). 

GAME-TITLE SPONSOR: Frito Lay

PREGAME: “Professor Von Air” will be on hand in the plaza, sharing his balloon artistry with our fans.

HALFTIME: We’ll recognize the 2018 Iowa Class 3A boys champions from Waukee High School, and a few lucky fans will have the chance to join us on the field for a Crossbar Challenge.

NATIONAL ANTHEM: Ellie Walter

GROUP OUTINGS: Frito-Lay, Waukee High School boys soccer and Greenfield soccer families

 

SATURDAY, JUNE 16: MENACE vs. THUNDER BAY CHILL

DOUBLEHEADER: The boys’ version of the Iowa High School All-Star Game kicks off at 5 p.m. One ticket gets you in for both Saturday games.

GAME-TITLE SPONSOR: Kum & Go

FOOD TRUCK: Roadside Tacos – Quite possibly the best street tacos in Des Moines?

PREGAME: It’s “Red and Black Give Back” Night, and we are showcasing local organizations making a difference in our community. In the plaza, visit with our guests from Central Iowa Shelter & Services, Furry Friends Refuge, and the Salvation Army.

HALFTIME: We’ll introduced the 2018 Iowa High School All-Stars, as well as the 2018 Iowa Class 2A boys champions from Pella High School.

NATIONAL ANTHEM: Lutheran Church of Hope choir

GROUP OUTINGS: Iowa Rush Nero 13U boys, Pella High School boys soccer, Central Iowa Shelter & Services, Furry Friends Refuge, and the Salvation Army

 

TICKETS: $10 for adults (18 and older); $8 for youth (ages 6-17); Free admission for ages 5 and under. $20 for a sideline seat at a V.I.P. table. The ticket silo (on field level) opens at 6 p.m.

FOR ALL MENACE HOME GAMES…

KIDS’ ZONE: Children are invited to head to the east side of Valley Stadium to play in the Principal Street Soccer Court and the Soccer Ball Bounce House. There’s no additional charge for the Kids’ Zone, which is open from 6:30 p.m. until the game’s 70th minute.

BEFORE THE GAMES: Children are invited on the field, starting at 7:20, for the human tunnel – Give high fives to the players as they enter the field for lineup introductions.

FIRST HALF: Sign up at the Info Table for a chance at one of two V.I.P. table upgrades, thanks to Kum & Go and Soccer Master. If you’re 18 and older, play 50/50 for a chance at a cash payout, while supporting the Menace Academy.

HALFTIME: Play Chuck-for-a-Buck: Buy your red rubber balls during the first half, and take aim at sponsor prizes.

SECOND HALF: If you’re 18 and older, play 50/50 for a chance at a cash payout, while supporting the Menace Academy. 50/50 tickets will be available from pregame to soon after halftime. We’ll announce the winner around the 70th minute.

 

PARKING: Season-ticket members receive access to the V.I.P. Parking Lot (field level) close to the entrance. There’s also plenty of free parking available in the upper parking lot as well as the City Hall parking lot.

SUPPORTERS’ CLUBS: Want to hang out with some soccer nuts? You can cheer and chant with the Red Army in the bleachers behind the north goal or with the Bucket Brigade at midfield in the stands.

RESTROOMS: There are two sets of restrooms – one on the north side of the main building (to the left of the entrance) and one on the upper level (behind the west bleachers).

 

AFTER THE GAMES: Meet the Menace players on the field for autographs and pictures. For the 21-and-older crowd, join the players and coaches at BeerStyles Taproom & Gastropub (in West Glen Town Center) for the Official Postgame Party of the Menace – Your ticket stub will get you a free drink.

 

WHAT’S NEXT: The home action keeps on coming – June 23, 29 and 30, then on to four more gamedays in July!
