Some noteworthy items about Saturday’s opponent:

-       The group represents every previous Menace team, with at least one member of each team from 1994-2010.

-       Franchise player Tomas Boltnar, the organization’s all-time leading scorer, makes his return. The team retired Boltnar’s No. 21 jersey in a 2009 ceremony on Tomas Boltnar Night.

-       Former Major League Soccer players Neathan Gibson and Matt Nickell are on the list. Gibson, the PDL team’s assistant coach, will lead the alumni squad.

-       On the roster are players who scored two goals of note: Kevin Graving scored the first-ever goal in team history, and Luke Frieberg clinched the Menace’s 2005 PDL title by converting the final kick in a dramatic shootout.

-       The roster, largely made up of guys who still live in the area, includes no fewer than a dozen current youth-soccer coaches.

-       The players will be sporting jerseys with the team’s vintage logo, which was used from 1994-1998. New for this game, fans will be able to purchase t-shirts with this retro logo.

-       Any former players not on the list who would like to join the team are welcome. Please email ajs@MenaceSoccer.com and we will add you to the festivities.

Saturday’s game is presented by the Principal Financial Group. It’s Blank Children’s Hospital Night, with $2 of every ticket sold going to the hospital. Fans are encouraged to bring batteries to the game, as they will be collected at the information table as part of a battery drive for Blank Children’s Hospital.
