The Drake men's soccer team will host Eastern Illinois this Wednesday on "Menace Night," when all Menace fans are invited to come support the Bulldogs.  Kickoff is at 7:00 pm at James Cownie Soccer Complex and fans are encouraged to wear their Menace gear to the game.

The 19th ranked Bulldogs are coming off a tough 2-1 loss to Missouri State on Saturday.  Drake is now 8-4-1 on the season with a 3-1-0 record in Missouri Valley Conference play.  Saturday's loss came just a few days after the team beat Creighton for the first time away from home.

Sophomore Thomas Ostrander, a member of the 2009 Menace, has scored in Drake's last 3 matches including the game-winner in the team's 1-0 win over Creighton.  Ostrander was also honored last week as the MVC's offensive player of the week.

Garret Webb, another Drake player who played for the Menace in 2009, is listed on the Hermann Trophy watch list.  Considered the top individual award in intercollegiate soccer, the recipients of the Hermann Trophy are selected by Division I head coaches who are current members of the NSCAA.  Webb currently leads the Bulldogs in points with 12, tallying 4 goals and 4 assists.

Other members of the Drake bulldogs who played for the Menace last season include Nick Foster, Julien Edwards, Hunter Kennedy, and Jordan Kadlec.  Foster and Kennedy have seen action in all of Drake's 13 matches this season while Edwards has started all 11 games he's played in.  Kadlec has seen action in goal on two occassions this season.

Eastern Illinois' record sits at 5-5-2 with a conference record of 2-3-0.  Sean Molony, goalkeeper for the Menace last season, has posted 5 shutouts for the Panthers and has a goals against average of 1.22 for the season.  Another member of the panthers squad who played for the Menace in 2009 is Ryan Child.  Child has started and played in 11 matches for Easter Illinois notching 1 assist on the season.

Wedneday night's match at Cownie Soccer Complex is the first of two contests between these teams this season.  Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for youth (ages 3-18).  For more information about Drake soccer visit www.GODRAKEBULLDOGS.com
