The U15, U16, & U17 Boys Menace Academy teams kicked off their fall season by competing in the Predident's Cup in Ankeny last weekend. The U17 team played well with a 1-2-0 record in the tournament. Both the U15 & U16 boys teams advanced to the tournament semifinals.

Three of the boys Menace Academy teams kicked off their fall season last weekend at Ankeny's President's Cup.  The U15, U16, and U17 teams all competed in the tournament.

The U15 Boys split their games on Saturday winning their first 3-0 against Iowa Rush Nike and losing their second match 4-2 against NFC Qdoba.  The U15's needed a win on Sunday to advance to the semifinals which they got with a 2-1 win against U16 BSA Revolution. In their fourth game of the weekend the U15's lost another close match to NFC Qdoba, 2-0.

The U16 Boys had a hot start in the President's Cup winning their first 3 matches, outscoring their opponents 18-0.  After winning their fourth match of the tournament, 2-1, the U16's advanced to the semifinals.  The U16's played well against a great WDMSC Fire U17 team, but came up short 3-0.

"It was a great start for both teams," said Tomas Boltnar, coach of the U15 & U16 teams.  "Not just because both made the semifinals, but I thought both teams played well and as a team."

The U17 boys were also in competition at the President's Cup.  While the boys fell short in both their matches on Saturday, they finished strong on Sunday with a win over the Iowa Rush U16, 1-0.

Congratulations to all three teams on some great play and a good start to the fall season!
