The Czech Republic native retired this off-season with the most celebrated career in the franchise’s 15-year history. He has countless stories to tell about some of the defining moments in Menace history, including the team’s magical 2005 season that culminated in the PDL championship. Boltnar also speaks fondly of the Menace’s four runs in the U.S. Open Cup, in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006. These are the same four seasons that he earned PDL first-team honors.

Boltnar burst onto the PDL scene in 2002, leading the way for a team that went undefeated in the regular season. He scored goals in all but one of the Menace’s (15-0-3) games that year, earning the league’s Rookie of the Year honors and the first of back-to-back M.V.P. awards.

The May 30 game is Black-Out Night and all fans wearing black will receive $5 admission. The first 100 fans in attendance will receive a black #21 Boltnar shirt to commemerate the event.  Black-Out Night is presented by Sherton Hotel in West Des Moines and will also feature the Sheraton Shades giveaway to the first 500 fans in attendance.
