Logan McDaniel is the fourth Menace player to earn a spot on the PDL's all-conference teams. The United Soccer Leagues made the announcement on Monday, Aug. 2.

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – Aug. 3, 2010 – The Des Moines Menace’s Logan McDaniel has been named to the Premier Development League’s 2010 Central Conference team. After compiling votes from team management, the United Soccer Leagues announced the PDL’s all-conference squads yesterday.

McDaniel scored five goals for the 2010 Menace (6-3-7), tying Clark Bradford for the team lead. His 12 points, matched by Lebogang Moloto, were topped only by Bradford’s 13.

The native of Palmdale, Calif., paced Laurie Calloway’s side in minutes played (1,344). He was a staple in the Menace’s midfield, along with Bradford; the co-captains were the only team members who appeared in all 16 matches.

The Menace congratulates McDaniel in becoming the fourth player in franchise history to earn all-conference recognition. He joins Joe Salem (2008), Danilo Oliveira (2006) and Tomas Boltnar (2003, 2005 and 2006). The league did not start the annual tradition of naming all-conference teams until 2003.

McDaniel, who prepares for his junior season at Loyola Marymount, is listed as a defender on the Central Conference’s postseason team. He is joined by three other players from Heartland Division clubs: Kansas City’s Jeremy Warman and Thunder Bay’s Brandon Swartzendruber and Gustavo Oliveira-Araujo. The remaining team members came from the Great Lakes Division.

The 67-team PDL – the highest amateur level of the United Soccer Leagues – is comprised of four conferences, each comprised of two divisions. The PDL has teams from 29 states, two Canadian provinces and Bermuda.
