Des Moines, Iowa - Menace front office announced today that a change in leadership will occur, as the contract for head coach Dean Johnson will not be renewed for the 2024 season. "I would like to thank Dean for his service to the Menace organization and wish him the best in the future," said Co-GM Lyle Hunt.

Johnson led the Menace to an unbeaten 10-0-2 regular season record in 2022 and was named USL2 Coach of the Year. The team finished atop the Deep North Division and won two playoff games before falling to the Flint City Bucks in the USL2 Quarterfinals. In 2023, the Menace finished second in the Heartland Division with a regular season record of 10-2-0, before suffering the same playoff fate, losing to the Bucks in the USL2 Quarterfinals.

“Want to say a massive thank you to the whole Des Moines organization especially the fans who have been nothing short of top class! I look forward to the continued success of a great club and appreciate all the memories we shared together,” said Johnson.

A national search for the next Menace head coach will commence immediately.
