In a dominant display, the Des Moines Menace showcased their offensive prowess against Sueno FC, securing a convincing victory. From the first whistle, the Menace set the tone with relentless pressure and clinical finishing, resulting in a comprehensive 5-0 win.

The Menace wasted no time getting on the offensive, taking their first shot just 46 seconds into the match. Marc Torrellas' header from a corner kick was saved off the line by the Sueno defenders, and Max Broughton's follow-up attempt was also blocked, keeping the scores level early on.

Sueno had their first chance in the 7th minute, but their striker's effort was parried away by Menace goalkeeper Viktor Hojbjerg. Another opportunity for Sueno came in the 14th minute, with a poorly connected strike from inside the box, easily scooped up by Hojbjerg.

In the 40th minute, a cross from Menace's Marco Manduzio found Edrey Caceres at the Sueno 6-yard box, but Caceres misfired, shooting directly at the Sueno goalkeeper. Three minutes later, Felipe D’Agostini slid Kenshin Uneo down the line, penetrating the Sueno box. Uneo engaged the Sueno goalkeeper before cutting it back to D’Agostini, who finished first-time to put the Menace ahead 1-0.

The second half started similarly, with the Menace getting an early chance just 43 seconds in. Torrellas played a dangerous ball into the Sueno box, which was almost met and finished by Ze Ribeiro da Cunha. However, Ribeiro da Cunha slid and tackled the Sueno goalkeeper instead of the ball, earning a yellow card.

In the 50th minute, Torrellas took a strike at the Sueno goal from 20 yards out, his effort narrowly missing the right post. Two minutes later, a penetrating through ball from Manduzio found D'Agostini, who took a great first touch into the Sueno box and smashed the outside of the post with his second touch.

The pressure on Sueno’s defense continued to mount. Great buildup play from the Menace saw Manduzio slip Uneo into the Sueno box with an intricate pass behind the defense. Uneo made no mistake, converting to make it 2-0 for the Menace.

In the 67th minute, some creative dribbling from D’Agostini followed by an unselfish pass set up Ribeiro da Cunha with an open goal. Ribeiro da Cunha fired the ball into the back of the net, extending the Menace's lead to 3-0. The relentless Menace attack didn't stop there. In the 73rd minute, Manduzio cut back his pass inside the Sueno 6-yard box for D’Agostini, who finished with ease to put the Menace ahead 4-0.

Salazar denied a Manduzio aerial effort in the 86th minute, parrying it away for a corner kick. However, the ruthless Menace pushed on. D’Agostini was slid in behind the Sueno lines by Robbie Mora, finishing with style as he chipped the ball over the out-of-position Sueno goalkeeper. D’Agostini completed his hat trick, making it 5-0 for the Menace just before the final whistle.

This show of dominance propelled the Menace to the top of the Heartland Division and back into the USL League Two's Power Rankings at #9.

The Menace are back at home on Saturday June 29th to take on River Light FC and seek redemption from their previous match up.
