The Des Moines Menace qualify for the 2026 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, preparing to make their 18th appearance in the historic tournament. 

Traditionally the First Round of the tournament is held in early spring. In the 2025 U.S. Open Cup, the Menace defeated Sporting KC II (MLS Next Pro) on March 19 with a historic roster of former MLS legends.

In 2026, the Menace will look to advance past the Second Round, where they have lost to Union Omaha (USL League One) in the past two years.
