Former Menace players Justin Davis and Jason Griffiths were chosen in the 2010 Major League Soccer SuperDraft on Thursday, Jan. 14. Real Salt Lake picked Davis (2007-08 Menace, New Mexico), and the New England Revolution drafted Griffiths (2009 Menace, Kentucky).

Registration is now open for the winter session of Junior Menace which begins January 5. Junior Menace is a developmental soccer program for players ages 4 to 9 and will be offered at the Downtown YMCA and at Eason Elementary in Waukee.

The Des Moines Menace is the 2009 Organization of the Year for the 68-team Premier Development League. The United Soccer Leagues made the announcement on Friday night (Nov. 20) at the USL Hall of Fame and Awards Dinner in Tampa, Fla.

In a press conference on Nov. 18, the Des Moines Menace officially announced that Laurie Calloway is the team’s new head coach and the Menace Academy’s Director of Coaching. Calloway guided the Menace to the playoffs in 2001 and 2002.
